The Confederation of Tanzania Industries is an independent, self-financed, legally constituted organization that serves its members by speaking out on their behalf and generally representing their interests. The main aim of the Confederation is to ensure that there is conducive business climate within which industry can operate effectively, prosper and contribute to national wealth and development.
The Confederation seeks to fill the following position.
The Policy specialist will be responsible to the Director of Policy and Advocacy.
The main responsibility of the Policy Specialist will be to conduct research for evidence-based position papers, develop position papers and establish advocacy strategies that will assist the Confederation's in its advocacy and lobbying.
The position requires good analytical skills and proficiency in written and spoken English. The Policy Specialist will be expected to produce materials that are focused and supported by evidence-based arguments. An essential part of gathering the evidence will be validating the materials through dialogue with members. The Policy Specialist will be required to produce technical papers for the Confederation's Standing Committees. He will collect information and data by conducting membership surveys, desk research and interviews with public officials and other stakeholders.

1.1 QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
i. Bachelor's Degree in Economics
ii. Good analytical capability
iii. Good public relations and ability to interact with the Confederation's
multi-stakeholders at different levels
iv. Good interpersonal skills
v. Excellent report writing and presentation skills
vi. Willingness to travel when necessary
vii. Knowledge of Tanzania's tax regime is desirable
viii. Experience, knowledge and understanding of the private sector and
its dynamics will be added advantages,
ix. Computer literacy.

environment in Tanzania,
iii. Develop advocacy strategies,

vii. Write policy position papers,
i. Monitor the Government's implementation of business reforms,
ii. Dialogue with Government officials on improving the business
environment in Tanzania,
iii. Develop advocacy strategies,
