Workers Compensation Fund (WCF) is a Government Institution under the Ministry of Labour and Employment established in accordance with Section 5 of the Workers Compensation Act No. 20 of 2008.
The Fund is a contributory social security scheme responsible for payments of compensation as a result of accidents suffered and diseases contracted out of and in the course of employment in accordance with relevant provision of the Workers Compensation Act.
The Fund started its operations on 1st July 2015. All employers in the public and private sectors in Mainland Tanzania are compulsorily required to contribute to the Fund.

Head Of Legal Services Unit (Job Ref: WCF/HLS/11/15)
JOB PURPOSE
The job holder is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Legal Unit, provision of legal advisory services and ensuring effective management of legal and contractual risks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To provide legal advice on all matters relating to the Fund's roles and functions.
To review legal documents to which the Fund is a party and prepare all legal documents including contracts, agreements, ' conveyances, leases and legal forms.
To represent the Fund in matters of litigation in the court of law or in any other legal proceedings.
To make follow ups on publication of subsidiary legislations relating to the Fund's activities in the Government Gazette.
To carry out legal research on various matters relating to the Fund's activities and propose amendments or new pieces of legislation.
To supervise responses to action and constant follow up on all documents received by the Fund for consent, execution, registration and discharge.
To provide the Fund with appropriate interpretation of the statutes, contracts and agreements relating to the Fund's business.
To keep custody of all contracts and other legal documents.
To provide secretariat services to Fund's Board, its committees and Management meetings and follow up implementation of the resolutions passed in these meetings
To prepare periodic reports on the status of legal issues facing the Fund.
To facilitate availability of information by all Board and Committee members so as to maximize their ability to contribute to board meetings, discussion.
To assist in the implementation of corporate strategies by ensuring that Board decisions and instructions are properly carried out and communicated.
To prepare and submit performance reports as required by authorities from time to time.
To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Director General.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS: Holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Law and Master
Degree in Law (LLM) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution. The job holder must be registered as an Advocate of the High Court.
EXPERIENCE: Must have a working experience of at least five years, of which at least two years should be at a senior position in the relevant field.
ORGANISATION APPOINTMENT AND REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
All the Directors and Heads of Units will be appointed by the Board of
Trustees; and report functionally to the Director General except the Head of
Internal Audit who will report to the Board of Trustees and administratively to the Director General. The Directors will supervise the managers within their
Directorates and the Heads of Unit will supervise their immediate reportees.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
For all advertised positions, candidates should possess the following attributes: excellent analytical skills, excellent communication skills, excellent problem solving skills, be visionary and motivational. The Head of Procurement should possess excellent negotiation skills.
SALARY SCALE
The Director positions will be paid at salary scale WCFSS 8 and Heads of Units at WCFSS 7.
