Partnership for Nutrition in Tanzania (PANITA) is a growing and dynamic civil society platform for scaling up nutrition sun with over 280 members located in all region of Tanzania registered in april,2013 as a not for profit company limited by guarantee. PANITA mission is to advance advocacy efforts and implementation intervention through strengthening the capacity. Increase mobilization and coordination of CSOs, private sectors organizations, the media and other development partners to facilitate a more effective national and local response to malnutrition. PANITA is recruiting an individual with positive attitude, clean and proven employment records to fill the position of the executive director based in Dar es Salaam
Qualifications:
Person specifications and experience
Strong reader with proven experience in building and leading a coalition of CSOs members from different locations in country must have, demonstration team leadership and coordination skills including the ability to lead and coordinate activities of a network of organization and to collaborate effectively with partners demonstrated experience in setting up newly established organization and developing necessary policies and framework
Demonstrated, fundraising considerable and demonstrable experience in advocacy, policy and development and influence with excellent oral and written communications skills with in way that are accessible to a range of audiences
She must have experiences of developing strategies documents (in clouding advocacy and communication strategies)
Working within budget constraining and managing budgets with ability to handle multiple activities.
Minimum academic qualifications; Masters level qualification in social sciences, development or nutrition
Desirable;
Knowledge of current national and international nutrition initiatives, understanding of nutrition and food insecurity, experience of influencing national print and broadcast media, IT and social media experience and knowledge of grant management.
Role purpose
To lead the development of PANITA, a multi funded civil society networks for nutrition in Tanzania to deriver its objectives
The executive director will provide strategies direction and ensure positioning and influence if PANITA as a platform nationally and globally in the scaling up nutrition movement.
Summary of the accountabilities:
The executive director is responsible to lead, monitor and supervised the staff team in ensuring PANITAs mission and objectives are fulfilled and ensure that PANITA continue to be recognize as a model of good practice in SUN nationally and globally
She will support the members of parliaments nutrition champ-ions to actively advocate for inclusion of nutrition into sector plans and share the plans with donors, the board and other stakeholders and ensure that PANITA is adequately funded to achieve delivery of its objectives through identification of funding gaps, funding opportunities in country and networks with donors as well as writing and preparations of concept papers and project proposal
She will also have to network to network an communities PANITA objectives through representation in national and international forums and networks, including government, CSOs, NGOs and nutrition professional associations.writinng papers, feature articles and participate in nutrition professional network activities and ensure new ideas, good practice and lesson leaner are also responsibilities of this position
The execu tive director will report to the board of directors and serve as a secretary of the board.
